- Kashi Vishwanath in Itivritti and Popular Smriti: An Empirical Study of Art, Craft, and Folk Practices of the Cultural Corridor – An ICSSR Project
IEDS is collaborating with DAV Post Graduate College, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on this research project under the ICSSR’s “History and Sociology of Art, Craft, Culture, and Folk Traditions of Regions of India” program. The project aims to explore the rich cultural and artistic traditions associated with the Kashi Vishwanath corridor, focusing on the interconnections between Itivritti (traditional narratives) and popular Smriti (memory). Through empirical research, the project seeks to document and analyze the art, craft, and folk practices that shape the cultural identity of this historically significant region.
